A: Animerge was originally an entry for the Century Games
Jam 2025. Our team, Scrambled Egg, had 3 programmers and 2
artists, with just 1 week to make an ambitious game. We
decided to go with what we were most familiar with at the
time; the programmers were proficient in multiplayer, while
the artists they specialised in 2D rigging. We were able to
bring together these strengths to create the game.
Animerge ended up securing first place in the game jam and
was also well-received at other community playtests. You can
check out the other game jam entries

A: The version submitted for the game jam was built on peer-to-peer technology. It doesn't feature matchmaking, and cheaters can manipulate the game. We decided to build Animerge from the ground up with features requested during playtest sessions, so that we can give the best experience for everyone.
A: Quite a while from now. When the team is free to maintain a live service game.
